Woodworking assistant
The woodworking assistant is intended for use as a versatile tool of a joiner or carpenter in a crafts joinery. It can flexibly carry out various types of tasks in the area of woodworking.
Examples of such tasks are drilling and spraying of wooden parts, which will be presented at AUTOMATICA 2008. The assistant can be coupled quickly and flexibly to different conventional manual tools of a joiner by using just a tool adaptor. At AUTOMATICA 2008, the assistant will be operated in a stationary application, but, if mounted on a pallet in the workshop, it can be transported to different workplaces (e.g. by means of elevating-platform truck or forklift truck).
For operation and programming of the assistant, intuitive man-machine interfaces have been integrated, which include graphics- and speech-based input possibilities.
