High-performance Gigabit Ethernet switches with modular port technology

The Scalance X308-2M has two slots for media modules, while the Scalance XR324-12M rack switch, which is specifically designed for installation in 19-inch cabinets, has twelve slots.

The new switches support ring redundancy, standby function, and VLAN (virtual local area network), and they support Gigabit Ethernet on all ports. Cables are connected to the electrical media modules using RJ45 connectors.

Cables are connected to the optical modules with SC or BFOC connectors, and if SFP (small form-factor pluggable) media modules are used, also with cables using LC connectors. The XR324-12M switch is available in four versions: for connection to either 24 V DC or 230 V AC, each with either front or rear cable outlet.

With a rear cable outlet, the lines are located in the back of the cabinet and the devices can be diagnosed via LEDs on the front.
