BipolarRF TruCut-Needle – Biopsy needle with coagulation means

The Bipolar RF TruCut-Needle is a novel biopsy device. With the Bipolar RF TruCut-Needle the components that are used for the biopsy can also be used for electric coagulation. Hence no further instruments are needed for the coagulation, which can be accomplished with RF current as well as DC current. Due to the bipolar method, the coagulation is optimal controlled. The Bipolar RF TruCut-Needle only produces currents limited to a small local area, so that undesirable effects like burn of the skin, an increase of the body temperature, false stimulations of nerves or cardiac pacemakers, as they may occur during monopolar methods, can be avoided. Altogether the Bipolar RF TruCut-Needle is slimmer than customary systems due to its special construction, so the risk of bleedings is decreased and the convenience for the patients is improved.
