GISMA Student Wins IFLA Competition
IFLA, under the aegis of the main event (INFOCOM conference & exhibition), is an endeavor to identify and groom the young global leaders of the future. It is India's most prestigious open paper writing competition for management students across the globe, where papers are invited from first and final year students from selected Business Schools across the world.
The six best entries are selected by a distinguished jury. All top six winners will be asked to present their papers on “Innovation in a downturn” at the INFOCOM 09-10 Conference in Calcutta on January 21 this year.
The theme “Innovation in a downturn” focused on innovative strategies and ideas that would lead the way forward and create the innovation upturn for global or tions and economies from the current global crisis.
“This award provides young aspiring business students like me an opportunity to present our work to a variety of business leaders, members of the Indian government and the industry in general”, explains Iyer this important experience. “Personally, I am thrilled that this endeavor of mine got my alma mater, GISMA Business School, to join the list of distinguished Business Schools such as UC Berkeley, INSEAD, Instituto de Empressa, Stockholm School of Economics and Technical University of Munich, as one of the international winners to have made their mark in this global event over the last decade.”
All participants had 8 weeks to write their paper. The research process was intriguing, the 27-years-old electrical engineer remembers, “given the fact that there is a vast amount of research being done on approaches to innovation during recessions, right from the great depression in the 1930s to the dotcom crash of the 2000s.”
