Increasing the concentration of lipids in microalgae by genetic manipulation of TAG lipase
Microalgae store chemical energy as lipids including a large number of high-quality, polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Researchers from Goethe-University in Frankfurt discovered a possibility to increase the concentration of lipids in microalgae significantly by a manipulation of the TAG lipase.
