ENERGY SAXONY e.V.: Fuel cells and energy technologies at Hannover Messe 2013

Energy Saxony e.V.is a young, economic oriented and knowledge-based network, originating from the „Brennstoffzellen Initiative Sachsen e.V.”. The goals of the joint activities are on the one hand the expansion of the competiveness and export strength of the Saxon energy industry and on the other hand the strengthening of the capacity in the energy sector.

The companies, research institutions and joint initiatives (EBZ Entwicklungs- und Vertriebsgesellschaft Brennstoffzelle mbH, Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM, eZelleron GmbH, Joint Initiative Renewable Energies Saxony, FuelCell Energy Solutions GmbH, RBZ RiesaerBrennstoffzellentechnik GmbH, DBI Gas- und Umwelttechnik GmbH, Sunfire GmbH, Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technology and Systems IKTS) present themselves at the joint stand and showcase their future-oriented technologies and outstanding highlights, such as:

The Dresden FuelCell Energy Solutions GmbH (FCES), which is a joint venture of the NASDAQ-listed FuelCell Energy, Inc., (USA, CT) and the Fraunhofer IKTS (Dresden), introduces its MCFC (Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell)-technology-based fuel cell power plant to the European market. The DFC®-fuel cell power plant was already installed in Zurich and London. The first DFC®250 EU will be installed in the new building of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. A capacity of more than one megawatt will be installed by the end of 2013. Concerning the climate policy goals, this allows us to look at the future with hope, as the DFC®-fuel cell power plant produces almost no emissions, when being run by natural gas or bio gas.
