Programmable Multifunctional Aperture for the Analysis of Optical Systems
The invention allows ophthalmologists to better quantify scattered light in the anterior eye segment and to grade lens opacities in cataract patients. Owing to a programmable, multifunctional aperture, measurement of scattered light can be combined with ocular wavefront analyses. The technology thereby provides the ophthalmologist with a powerful tool for the characterisation of various optical aberrations of the eye.
