Amended German translation of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods

The corrected and revised 2015 version of the German translation of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods – Manual of Tests and Criteria – 5th revised edition, New York and Geneva 2009, prepared by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is now available.

It can be downloaded as a pdf file from the BAM website from the address http://www.bam.de/de/service/publikationen/handbuecher.htm free of charge.

The revised and expanded 2015 German translation contains additions and changes according to Amendment 1 and Amendment 2 such as changes in Test Series 7 and 8 and Test Series H, changes in the test methods required for the classification of desensitized liquid explosives and Class 3 flammable liquid substances, a new test method for oxidizing solids and changes in the T6 test for lithium batteries.

This revision, legally enacted on 1 January 2015 by referring to the regulations for the Transport of Dangerous Goods via different modes of Transport: ADR 2015, RID 2015 and ADN 2015 for the European road, rail and inland waterway transport with a transitional period of six months, the IMDG Code Amendment 37-14 for sea transport with a one-year toleration period and ICAO -TI 2015-2016 for aviation without a transition period.
