Innovative networks in the global context
Successful international networks are advantageous for players intending to enhance their scientific excellence by transnational cooperation, to explore potentials for innovation as well as to contribute to solutions for overcoming global challenges.
Among these successful networks counts also the “Academic Consortium 21” (AC21) which was founded in 2002. Currently it includes 19 member universities from all of the five continents originating not only from industrialized countries (i.a. USA, Australia, Japan, France) but also from emerging and developing countries (i.a. China, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, South Africa).
Within this network, Technische Universität Chemnitz plays a leading role in order to support and further strengthen the global collaboration in studies, teaching and research.
Among the largest and most important events of the mentioned network counts the “AC21 International Forum” happening every two years. In the year 2016, TU Chemnitz will host this event, to which more than 200 guests, underneath them presidents, rectors and scientific managers from the AC21-member universities, are expected to participate.
From 30 April to 3 May they will discuss the future-oriented topic “Networks of innovation for the transformation of society through science”.
Thus, “Best Practices” from different regions of the world shall be presented in order to initiate a process of mutual learning. Furthermore, the establishment and further development of a transfer culture within trans-disciplinary and cross-sector networks including the creation of appropriated framework conditions as a base for successful acting within international networks shall be approached.
From now on until the 31 January 2016, the call for proposals (particularly for presentations and panels for workshops) is open. For further details please see the “Call for Proposals: Presentations and Panels”: https://www.tu-chemnitz.de/international/vernetzung/ac21/if2016/AC21IF2016_CfP.p…
