The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT invites the laser community to the 14th International Laser Technology Congress AKL in Aachen from April 17 to 19, 2024.

At AKL’24, users, manufacturers and developers from various areas of the laser industry will have the opportunity to exchange information on the latest developments in the field of applied laser technology in production. With over 500 participants, more than 80 presentations and 50 laser manufacturers and system or component suppliers at the conference accompanying exhibition, AKL has established itself as the leading forum for applied laser technology in production in Europe.

Companies are constantly looking for new ideas and technologies to better position themselves in a tough competitive landscape. The AKL, which takes place every two years, gives its participants an information edge in applied laser technology. Laser users, manufacturers, developers as well as newcomers, strategists and practitioners will have the chance to learn in depth about where the latest laser processes and systems can be applied. At the conference, there will be numerous opportunities for direct dialog about relevant and forward-looking industrial developments in laser technology in various sectors of the manufacturing industry: after the presentations or in the exhibition accompanying the conference, during the networking evenings or during visits to the laboratories or application halls of Fraunhofer ILT.

Laser know-how bundled up in one place!

At AKL’24, the main topics will range from laser material processing in the macro and micro range, laser beam source development, additive manufacturing all the way to process monitoring, digitalization and quantum technology. In addition, the optional specialist forums – “Digital Sciences & Photonic Production,” “Quantum Technology & Photonics” and “Functional Surfaces by Laser Processing” – will provide more in-depth expert know-how. Between the presentations, the accompanying sponsor exhibition will help visitors establish contacts with proven experts in the laser industry: networking at its best! Strategists and marketing managers can specifically gain new knowledge about the status and prospects of the European, American and Asian laser markets at the “Technology Business Day.” One of the highlights of AKL’24 is the “Laser Technology Live” event: In Europe’s largest laser facility park, scientists at the Fraunhofer ILT provide insights into their research activities with numerous live demonstrations.

As every year, the ceremonial presentation of the Innovation Award Laser Technology 2024 will also take place during AKL’24 in the Coronation Hall of Aachen City Hall.
