SNHU Awards Global M.B.A. Scholarship
Southern New Hampshire University’s Go-Getters Challenge, a two-month campaign to award one contestant a free Global M.B.A., named Jennifer Allen, of Mexico City, Mexico, its winner.
Allen was selected among three finalists, who appeared live on “FOX25 Morning News” Oct. 27. Each contestant had one minute to explain how an SNHU Global M.B.A. would impact their life. Viewers then voted online and a panel of SNHU judges determined the final winner.
“I am absolutely thrilled that I have been chosen as the winner of the Go-Getter Challenge. This has been a truly incredible experience. I am so thankful for this opportunity to finally be able to further my education through the Global M.B.A. from SNHU,” said Allen. “I am confident that the tools and skills that I will learn will be directly applied to my work as a manager in a nonprofit organization in Mexico City, Mexico.
I plan on then sharing successful strategies for economic sustainability worldwide through consulting. Most of all, I know that this scholarship will enable me to empower others. I will be transformed through this experience and know many others will be also.”
The campaign was unveiled on the “FOX25 Morning News’” Sept. 16 broadcast. Contestants were required to write a 500-word essay explaining how a Global M.B.A. would impact their lives. SNHU staff and faculty members served as judges and selected six semi-finalists. On-campus interviews followed and the field was then narrowed to three. The campaign generated over 1 million online impressions and candidates from seven states and Mexico took part in the Challenge.
“The ideal go-getter for us is someone who is goal-driven and willing to put in the time and effort to improve his or her life and the lives of those around them, but perhaps hasn’t had the opportunity or resources to get to that next level in their education,” says SNHU President Paul LeBlanc. “Education has been the fuel of the American Dream and this is our way to help someone realize the transformation that is possible.”
