MASS Technology from Carl Zeiss: Optical and Contact Measurements in One CNC Run

Another possibility of MASS technology: the LineScan optical laser triangulation stylus.<br>

MASS® technology permits the fast, economical measurement of workpieces with features that can be measured only by contact or only optically or those that even require both.

The multi-sensor platform can include the VAST® gold or VAST XT gold central scanning probes and the RDS articulating probe holder. The central probes are known for their ability to accommodate high stylus weights and long stylus extensions, while RDS enables more than 20,000 stylus positions in 2.5° increments for the LineScan® optical laser triangulation sensor or the VAST XXT passive scanning sensor.

All applications are optimally supported by CAD-based HOLOS® NT and CALYPSO® software packages. HOLOS NT is ideal for the measurement of freeform surfaces and digitization. CALYPSO is the feature-oriented software for the measurement of geometric features.

LineScan is particularly well-suited for the fast acquisition and form inspection of freeform surfaces using HOLOS NT. If features have to be inspected in many different orientations and positions, the RDS articulating probe holder with the VAST XXT passive scanning probe further increases measuring efficiency.
