Siemens launches communications technology partnership

This is Siemens’ first solution partnership designed to focus specifically on its RuggedCom and SCALANCE communication ranges. As a mobile virtual network operator, Arkessa’s machine to machine (M2M) platform provides effective management and monitoring solutions through a single management portal and enables safe and secure access to any equipment through RuggedCom and SCALANCE products.

The platform can be integrated with own management systems via standards-based application-programming interfaces (APIs) and customised to meet the end users’ own requirements. The system is available through a range of hosts – such as the cloud, data centres or on-premise deployment – enabling large corporations to conform to their own or regulatory data privacy and compliance requirements.

Ian Poulett, Industrial Communications & Identification, Siemens UK & Ireland, comments: “Following the integration of our RuggedCom and SCALANCE solutions into one business unit, we wanted to identify a dedicated communications solution partner with unrivalled experience in the M2M market. Delivering secure solutions, which can be deployed within corporate firewalls for example, flexible deployment and enhancing operational efficiency for end users is at the forefront of our industrial communication strategy and through our new solutions partnership with Arkessa, we can continue to build on this.”

Operating globally, with offices in the UK and Germany, Arkessa is one of the largest M2M connectivity specialists.

Andrew Orrock at Arkessa, adds: “We pride ourselves on delivering solutions that provide precise, consistent and secure management and monitoring from anywhere in the world, regardless of Mobile Network or indeed Communications technology. At Arkessa, we strive to make M2M and IoT easy and we’re delighted to partner with Siemens to support their ever expanding industrial communications ranges.”
