

The EMBO Award for Communication in the Life Sciences is presented annually to a life scientist in Europe for outstanding contributions to the public communication of science. The award highlights the exceptional efforts made by many scientists to combine science communication with a full-time research career.
The prize consists of a personal award of 5,000 Euro and a handcrafted medal. EMBO also nominates winners for the European Commission's Prize for Science Communication. Joint winners of the EMBO Award in 2007 were French cell biologists Ali Saib and Christian Sardet.
