Extended energy management ensures greater transparency with energy demand and measures
The new Version 5.3 of Simatic B.Data offers an energy management dashboard with which energy quantities and costs can be clearly displayed in both tabular and graphic form. Simatic powerrate, the energy management add-on for the Simatic WinCC visualization system and Simatic PCS 7 process control system, has also been released in a new Version 4.0 SP1 for Windows 7 (64 bit). With the new advance process library (APL) design, Simatic powerrate now slots seamlessly into the user interface of the control system.
The new dashboard in the Simatic B.Data V5.3 energy management system offers a clear tabular and graphic display of energy volumes and costs, as well as additional key performance indicators (KPIs). To improve energy efficiency, for example, it is possible to manage and evaluate costs, target savings, actual savings, return-on-investment or payback period in B.Data as well as presenting them in the form of easily configurable reports. New features include an overview of all energy-efficiency measures and a shift schedule that is integrated into the planning of future energy requirements. To ensure a more accurate forecast of energy demand, various production shift models can be specified, for example operation in two or three-shift working patterns. In addition, local dates can be integrated, such as regional public holidays, that have to be taken into account when planning energy levels, evaluating and preparing reports. Other new features include alarms and notifications that are triggered when there is any deviation from specific KPIs. If the response is quick enough, energy and production costs can be reduced.
Simatic powerrate V4.0 SP1 with its new advance process library (APL) design slots seamlessly into the user interface of the Simatic PCS 7 process control system. The energy management add-on to Simatic PCS 7 and Simatic WinCC has also been extended for application in the Asiatic market and now also offers Chinese as a user language. In its new version 4.0 SP1, Simatic powerrate supports Windows 7 (64 bit) architectures and Microsoft Excel 2010. All the functions of Microsoft Excel 2010 are available to the user for the preparation of reports.
