Fuel Cells and Energy Technology at the Shared Stand of „ENERGY SAXONY e.V.“ at Hannover Fair 2014

Along with the presentation of its core competences, covering inter alia the power-to-gas and smart grid technology, the DBI Gas- und Umwelttechnik GmbH (DBI) will provide information about the European field test project for fuel cell heating ‚ene.field‘ aiming to install and analyse about 1,000 fuel cell heating devices in 12 EU member states until 2017.

As producer and developer of high-temperature solid oxide fuel cells and steam electrolysers (SOFC/SOEC), and as pioneer in the fields of the power-to-liquids and power-to-gas technology, the sunfire GmbH will present its latest developments from these segments.

In this context, the focus will be on the world’s first power-to-liquids demonstration system, which has been installed on sunfire’s premises in Dresden as well as on the new products for electricity producers based on the SOFC technology.

The FuelCell Energy Solutions GmbH produces large fuel cell power stations (250 kW to 2.8 MW) for natural gas and biogas. In this year, particular focus will be given to the profitable, decentralised solutions for industrial users for the generation of clean electricity, industrial heat or refrigeration in a highly efficient way.

The EBZ Entwicklungs- und Vertriebs-gesellschaft Brennstoffzelle mbH will this year be presenting the modular concept of its SOFC/SOEC test inventories. Optimized control technology and software will allow for a greater flexibility in the design of the test systems and for shorter manufacturing times.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS Dresden develops printing technologies for the efficient production of flexible thermoelectric generators (TEGs) as well as of printed all-in systems (energy converter, battery and sensor) for the conversion of hitherto unused waste heat into electrical energy and demonstrates this with a striking exhibit.

The microtubular full metal fuel cell of the eZelleron GmbH is very robust, low-weighted and permits a cost-effective production. This makes it eminently suitable for use in all portable and mobile fuel cell applications. eZelleron will present, the first time ever, the prototype of a smartphone charger which can be operated with liquefied gas independently from electric power supply.

This year’s presentation of the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS will focus on a pilot project on the mobile power supply for traffic lights. Based on the specifically developed ceramic high-temperature fuel cell, the so called eneramic® fuel cell system is a mobile power generator, which is run on commercial fuels.
