How SMEs are Successfully Using Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has established a strong presence across industries, large and small. The “VoBaKI” research project has empowered small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with an innovative tool to independently champion the challenges of using artificial intelligence (AI). Rational and accessible solutions were developed to assist SMEs on their journey towards an AI future while collaborating with the FIR at RWTH Aachen University and the Institute of Ergonomics (IAW) at RWTH Aachen University and along with the support of numerous partners and a project-accompanying committee.
Understanding the AI Life Cycle and the Need for Competent Strategies
The VoBaKI project focused on enabling SMEs to independently identify the processes and sourcing strategies in an AI use case’s life cycle. Thus, a foundation successfully demonstrated the implementation of AI projects without existing internal resources, providing a guide to companies using a structured process model.
Leveraging the Key Benefits of the VoBaKI Model
The VoBaKI research project offers a practical and user-friendly framework to lead SMEs through the AI adoption journey through:
- A clear and structured process: It provides an effective task manager for AI projects using engaging planning aids
- Competency identification: The web tool showcases the required skill set for specific AI use cases
- Interactive PDF: Users are provided a downloadable PDF consisting of the entire process model
Empowering SMEs with AI
Considering the challenges of skilled resources in businesses, the VoBaKI research project helps companies identify gaps strategically through informed decision-making.
