Reduce the cost of creating CD catalogues for products
Lotura launches CDPrest! a software that companies can use to generate their own multimedia catalogues, up-dating and customising them for their clients. Video, 3D imaging, photos of and instructions for use of the products can be included in the catalogues.
The Gipuzkoan-based company, Lotura (www.lotura.com), has launched the CDPrest! software on to the market, an application that enables companies to create their own products catalogue in multimedia format and their subsequent transfer to a CD in a quick and cheap manner, to such an extent that, once the programme is acquired, the cost of each catalogue will be that of a virgin CD.
This software is designed to help those companies which market a wide range of products and which run up high costs of design and production of multimedia or printed catalogues which become obsolete when the company product range undergoes any change.
By means of a simple and intuitive interface, CDPrest! enables the creation of families and subfamilies of products and the incorporation of required data, such as reference codes, names and prices. End-users may themselves add a description, a list of features, an image of the product, documents with instructions (office and acrobat) and video. The product images can be shown as interactive 3D objets with the possibility of interacting with the object: turning, moving, cutting up, measuring and transverse cutting, amongst others. Moreover, CDPrest! enables the addition, modification or the removal of products from the catalogue, and their transfer to different subfamilies or families.
A navigable multimedia presentation of the catalogue can be shown at the clicking of a button, with either all the contents of the catalogue or with only those parts or data thereof that the end-user has selected, depending on the function of the CD to be used. The presentation can be copied onto a CD-ROM by means of a recorder and will be automatically executed when this disc is inserted into the PC.
CDPrest! provides significant savings for companies, given that their catalogues do not become obsolete simply because there is a change in the product specifications. Nor do they have to depend on external multimedia design agencies each time they wish to create a new catalogue. Moreover, this system enables limited editions of the CD’s within the company itself or, otherwise, commission large editions from CD copying companies, using one of the CD’s generated with CDPrest!. In this way, sales staff can include a catalogue of the whole range of their company products on one CD card.
Lotura offers two versions of the software depending on the level of customisation of the catalogue design: Basic, enabling the user to choose between six different graphic styles, to introduce the company logo and data, a text presenting the catalogue, and the image of the presentation page; Customised, a version of CDPrest! adapted to the needs of the corporate image of the business and with all the sections needed to incorporate their catalogue, including formulas for Internet contact.
