GeoConcept maps out the future with GeoScheduling Suite™ V2

GeoConcept of France, a leader in mapping and optimisation applications for businesses, has launched GeoScheduling Suite(tm) V2. This new version of the specialist software combines real-time and deferred optimisation of mobile resource timetables and provides productivity gains of 20% to 70% depending on the organisation. These optimised schedules guarantee perfect efficiency with better targeted operations, which are more pertinent, faster and less costly.

Travelling personnel spend an average of half their time in their vehicles, driving several thousand kilometres per year. This road time is both totally unproductive for the company and costly in terms of travel expenses. Optimising these movements has a direct impact on timetables, improves productivity and reduces fuel costs. These factors are very important, particularly when there is a large fleet to manage with several dozen or even several thousand technicians.

The GeoScheduling Suite™ combines detailed knowledge of the area covered using increasingly detailed geographic data with a capacity for optimisation based on equipment performance and powerful algorithms. It minimises the overall distance covered by personnel as well as the time spent in their vehicles, producing ’geoptimised’ schedules.

The new version of the GeoScheduling Suite™ moves a step ahead in the concept of geoptimising timetables for company mobile resources. The GeoScheduling Suite™ V2 provides both the best solution for real-time processing of an ’urgent’ requirement and a general planning solution, taking into account all the objectives and constraints of the company’s activity, based on customer requirements and company organisation.

The software also optimises technical performances and can be used to process schedules for a large number of mobile resources, which are updated regularly by a large team. The benchmarks used by many customers highlight this solution’s ability to meet the demands of several hundred interventions per day.

GeoScheduling Suite™ V2 can also be integrated into the company’s information system, using standardised processes and standard exchanges in XML format for greater fluidity of information transfers. Customer files, available resources and requests for intervention can all be collected automatically by the company’s various information systems (ERP, CRM or Supply chain) and then optimised using GeoScheduling Suite™.

Furthermore, the number of environments supported is expanding. GeoScheduling Suite™ V2 has been validated on a range of application servers – WebLogic, Borland Enterprise Server and Tomcat – and on the Linux, Windows and Solaris environments.
