New engineering functions simplify maintenance operations in the process industry
The new software version V6.1 now features a “Maintenance Override” function for maintenance operations.
Automatically generated faceplates enable the user to place bypasses in the safety program which can be mutually interlocked if necessary. Bypasses can be placed both at individual and at groups of up to three process signals. It is also possible to set a reset time so the bypasses automatically reset on expiry of the prescribed time period.
Simatic S7 F Systems is an engineering tool that is provided with safety-related function blocks certified by the German Technical Inspectorate (TÜV). The function blocks are interconnected by the user simply in CFC (Continuous Function Chart) to create a safety-related program for the fault-tolerant Simatic S7-400H controller. This solution is especially suitable for safety-related applications up to SIL3 according to IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 in the process industry.
