Public expenditure on culture totalled over 9 billion euros in 2009

Theatre and music accounted for the largest share of public expenditure (35.4%), followed by museums (18.0%) and libraries (15.1%).

This result was published today in the Cultural Finance Report 2012 of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
