Hydroxyindalpine derivatives for the treatment or prevention of gastrointestinal diseases
Our results indicate that i.e. the hydroxyindalpine derivative 5 BOIP stimulates human enteric nerve cells by agonization of the 5 HT1P receptor which is known to play a key role in the initiation of the peristaltic reflex in the intestine. By this hydroxyindalpine derivativesare useful as therapeutic agents for the treatment or prevention of gastrointestinal diseases/disorders and, in particular, for relieving gastrointestinal symptoms.
