Peptide-based method for monitoring gene expression in a host cell
The present invention relates to a method for monitoring the expression level of a gene in a host by modulating the activity of a regulatory bio molecule. The regulatory bio molecule is a nucleic acid binding polypeptide regulating the tetracycline-dependent gene regulation system in a tetracycline independent way. This system can be used as a genetic reporter system to address questions or problems in proteomics and to facilitate proteome analysis. In addition, the invention facilitates the analysis of pathogenicity-specific genes of a pathogenic organism after infection of an animal in an in vivo disease model.
