Pulmonary retard-pharmaceuticals with sol-gel-transition

For the medical treatment of lung diseases pharmaceuticals are often applied by inhalation. The release of the active agent occurs within a very short time-period. If the release of the active agent is to be delayed in order to achieve a most uniform release during a longer period of time, aqueous dispersions of encapsulated active substances are used.
The basic idea of the innovation is the application of polymer solutions containing active substances and forming particles only after nebulisation at the intended site of deposition.
