<b>New allosteric effectors to influence the GABA-receptor complex.</b>
In cooperation with the Symrise GmbH & Co. KG scientists of the Ruhr-University Bochum have now discovered a new chemical class of GABA-receptor modulators that lead to a concentration-dependent and reversible sedation of mice. Due to their volatility, this new class of (odorant) substances can also be taken up by breathing.
