Expression Amplification of G-Protein Coupled Receptors
Functional expression of odorant receptors and other G-protein coupled receptors is still very difficult and thus the limiting factor in identification of scents and for pharmacological characterization of this receptor class. Synthesis of an odorant receptor in an heterologous cell system was greatly increased by co-expression of an additional protein.
