Procedures for the production of cyclic peptides
Cyclic peptides are of great pharmacological relevance due to their antibiotic, cytostatic, and/or their immunosuppressive effect. However, many of these peptides could not be produced in vitro, or only at great cost, until now. The invention presented here provides a procedure with which cyclic peptides could be produced quicker, simpler and with higher yields compared to previous methods. In the new procedure presented here, a resonance stabilized leaving group is chemically bound to the linear peptide and subsequently reacts together with a peptide cyclase.
